Welcome

Welcome to our three new starts, Sarah, Ava and Finn. We would also like to welcome back, Isla, Daniel, Hailie, Alastair, Ruby and Eden. We hope you all had an enjoyable summer.

Timetable

Our timetable for the following academic year will be:-

Tuesdays – PE in school hall 9 – 9.30am. Please provide your child with a pair of shorts and a Tee shirt. Children change in the setting and we encourage independence but offer support where required.

Wednesdays –Sticky Kids 10 -10.20am, in school. No PE kit required. Sticky Kids is an aerobics exercise session we run in blocks of 4 weeks throughout the year. Block 1 begins on Wednesday 31 August.

Thursdays – Baking our snack. We bake snack on a Thursday and all children will get a chance to be the helper by way of a rota.

Open Mornings

Coldingham ELCC offers an Open Door Policy, where parents are more than welcome to come into the setting for all or part of the session. This allows you to see how the Nursery functions and spend valuable learning time with your child. Please see the timetable in the cloakroom if you are interested.

Indoor Shoes

Can all children please come to Nursery with a pair of indoor shoes, preferably plimsolls? These will also double up as gym shoes in the hall. We encourage children to change their own shoes wherever possible.

Snack Money

Snack money is now due and is charged at 50p a session. In-service days and holidays are not charged. Please ensure snack money is paid in advance. Milk and water are offered on a daily basis and fruit is offered at least 50% of the time. The children help select snack menu for the week. We encourage healthy eating but also like to celebrate birthdays by way of making birthday cakes!!

Positive Behaviour

Coldingham ELCC likes to promote positive behaviour by way of praise and reward charts. Our current focus is on good manners, being kind and helpful and tidying up our toys. This leads to reward stickers for charts and when the chart is full the children will receive a certificate and their completed chart.

Trip to Coldingham Beach

Nursery are going to have a trip to the beach on Wednesday 7 September, weather permitting. We will have a rock pool ramble, sandcastle competition, beach clean, talk about the sea shore and sea life and a picnic snack. Please send your child in suitable clothing and footwear for a morning at the beach and rock pools and also with a back pack with a full change of clothes and a small towel. Children are welcome to bring a bucket and spade. ELCC will provide drinks and snacks. Drop off will be at the beach car park at 8:40am and collection from the same area at 11:50am. Please complete and return the attached EV2 form. This trip will go ahead if we have a dry forecast but failing that we will reschedule for Friday 9 September.
