News from Mr Bewsey
Action Stations
Thank you to all the staff and pupils who made Wednesday’s ‘day of action’ so successful. With help from Occasions of Eyemouth, the children have created a number of wonderful decorations for The Priory. Look out for the pictures on Facebook.
Christmas Show
Don’t forget, Monday 19th December is our Christmas Show. Come along at 6pm for an evening of entertainment.
Book Fair
Cockburnspath Primary School have a Book Fair coming next week for 2 weeks. I will endeavour to share a list of the books for sale and will happily co-ordinate orders if that would be helpful.
Achievement Assembly
Next week will be our monthly Achievement Assembly. Please send in ANYTHING that your child/ren have done recently that they are proud of. It does NOT have to be a sporting award or similar. It is just a chance to share in each other’s successes.
Wall of Learning
Our Pupil Voice group have recently established a ‘Learning Wall’ in the school hall. This is a special display of work that the pupils themselves are particularly proud of. We would like to encourage parents and carers to make the time to look at this ongoing display.
PE update
I am both disappointed and frustrated that we still don’t have a new PE teacher following Mrs Henry’s retirement in October. As I have shared previously, recruitment of PE teachers for small schools is completed by SBC HQ. At present, they are still in the recruitment process. As a result, I have taken the decision to employ a supply PE teacher who will cover our 2 schools from January until further notice. Ms Thompson is a trained PE specialist and we look forward to working with her.

P1,2 News
We have been practising our Christmas play with the Primary 3/4s. For Action Stations on Wednesday we spent all day doing art. We were making pictures about Christmas to go to the church. We had Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus and the Boy. We also made a picture of the elephants. We have been learning to do a dance. We have to tiptoe high. We are all very excited to start our class advent calendar and have a Christmas story every day!
P3,4 News
Yesterday we had a day of art. It was really good. We made the nativity characters with our own materials and we made them from scratch. We made a stable from drift wood and fir cones too. We all liked doing a dot to dot and the final picture was an angel blowing a horn. Reverend Haddow came to talk to us about advent. By Ronan and Rory
