Outdoor Learning Week
The last few days have seen the children enjoy a variety of outdoor learning opportunities and experiences. The class teachers have been very creative in the ways they have ‘taken learning outdoors’. We have been considering how to use our external spaces as an extension of our learning environment. This means that, when appropriate, simply doing reading groups outside was fitting. At other times, exploring the woods or visiting the beach was the right choice. It’s been a wonderful time for pupils and staff.
Kingswood meeting for parents
We held our information session on Tuesday afternoon, during which we shared details about the upcoming P7 residential. For those parents /carers unable to attend, we will send a copy of the presentation to you via email. If anyone has further questions about the trip, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Bewsey or Mrs Tharme.
Next week sees all after-school clubs running as planned, including the Athletics club on Wednesday. Please note the following:
– Monday Ukulele club finishes at 3.45pm not 4pm.
– Athletics club costs £1.50 not £1 and is for P6&7 only.
Primary 6 & 7 school nurse visit
As part of their Health & Wellbeing curriculum, pupils in P6 and 7 will be visited by our school nurse, Katrina Fairbairn, on Wednesday next week. If you have any questions about this, please speak to Mrs Tharme.

This week we built dens in the Bogan wood using sticks, dead leaves and other materials. After building our dens in the wood we went back into the school playground where we got sausages and games to play. On Tuesday we went St Abbs to find out more about nature and why you should protect it. We also went up to the cliffs to see the birds and how many there were. There were about 43000.
