Weekly round-up

Bonfire and Fireworks

We would like to extend another huge vote of thanks to the Parents & Friends Association for hosting Saturday’s bonfire and fireworks. All who attended commented on what a great spectacle it was. Particular thanks must go to Alison and Krish Ramcharran (Alexander’s mum and dad) for co-ordinating the event, to Barry (Freya, James and Grace’s dad), Roy (Finlay and Sarah’s dad) and Ed (Isaac’s dad) for orchestrating the firework display, and to Doug (Amy and Nicky’s dad) for sorting the bonfire. There were numerous other helpers too – thank you everyone!

P6&7 netball competition

Our pupils did us proud! The P7 team played superbly in the small-schools competition, winning their pool. Thanks to Helen (Carrie and Rory’s mum) for training the team and to Sheila for helping on the afternoon.

Water Bottles

Please ensure your child has a water bottle in school. These must be taken home daily for washing. Thank you.

Shoebox Appeal

With Christmas approaching, we would like to invite you to consider filling Samaritan’s Purse shoe box. The attached leaflet provides full information.

If you and your family would like to do this, please bring finished boxes to school by NEXT Friday.

Moving between classrooms

Christmas is fast approaching and with it the school Christmas show!

This year, the P1,2 and 3 pupils are performing their version of the Nativity story whilst P4,5,6 and 7 are presenting a traditional tale. To help each group learn their scripts and songs, the P3 children will be spending some time each week with the P1/2 class.

In addition to the Christmas show sessions, there may be other times when pupils spend time with other classes if it is necessary to support learning. We appreciate your support and understanding of this arrangement as we prepare for our shows and provide age appropriate learning experiences.

This week

Pupil News

ELC

We have had a busy week at Nursery. Everyone was very excited about the bonfires and fireworks, describing the loud bangs and bright colours they saw. We made a colourful wall display.

This month we will be keeping our bodies healthy with lots of outdoor fun and PE and learning how to balance, hop and run.

P345

This week we did:

Art: we did water resistant fireworks we used water resisting crayons.🎨

Practical maths: P5’s did diagonals, P4’s did corners, faces and edges and P3’s did following intrusions so they coloured the shapes the right colour.👍

Spelling: we did our own personal spelling words that we could not spell so we looked at our corrections.😉

RME with Ms Clark: how Christians celebrate harvest – we did the story of how God made the world👼. BY Anna and Edie
