ChildLine visit
The visiting speakers were very impressed with how engaged our pupils were with the topics covered. The children learnt how to keep themselves safe in regard to their personal space. Our thanks to the visiting team. The school made a £50 donation to NSPCC in recognition of their valuable work.
Children in Need
Thank you to everyone who supported last week’s fundraising efforts. We raised £100 for this worthy cause! Wow!
This week
P6&7 Sports Hall Athletics
This planned event had to be cancelled due to reasons out-with our control. Active Schools Borders hope to re-arrange in due course.
PE on Friday (24th Nov)
Please make sure your child has their PE kit next Friday and that all jewellery is suitably managed.
Next week
St Andrew’s Day – School closed
Please note that schools across SBC will be closed on Monday 27th November to mark St Andrew’s Day.
Nursery trip to Paxton House
On Wednesday 29th Nov, our nursery pupils will visit Paxton House. How exciting!

PFA Christmas Shopping Night (Monday 4th December)
Please put the evening of Monday 4th Dec in your diary. The PFA are hosting their Christmas Shopping evening with a number of local producers and businesses selling their wares. The travelling book fair will also be available as will a children’s ‘pocket money’ stall. Full details to follow.
Achievement Assembly
On Thursday 7th December, we will hold our termly Achievement Assembly. This is an opportunity for pupils to share some of their recent successes, particularly from out-with school. Please encourage your child to tell us about their swimming, music, Guides or any other success.
Christmas Show
As you may be aware, the children have started preparing for this year’s Christmas show. Please put the evening of Monday 11th December in your diary and start telling your wider family and friends. Further details will be shared in due course.

Ava- it’s spotty day today
Lawson- it’s Children in need today. We brought in money for children who don’t have anything.
James – we iced special biscuits for snack.
Felix – we put circle sprinkles on our children in need biscuits.
Tom – we made 2 biscuits each. I ate one and I’m going to give the other one to my grandma, she’ll like it.
Minnie – I made two biscuits one for me and I don’t know who I’ll give the other one too.

P1 and P2 are enjoying running a toy factory in their classroom. Our forces topic is great fun. They have moved the ‘Factory Staff Cafe’ to the Toy Shop for shoppers to enjoy. They had been making toys that have a moving part. Please send in any junk so that we can continue to explore making toys. They are excited about their roles in our Christmas Show.

Maths the P5 are learning their 8x table, P4 have done addition of 2 digit numbers, P3 have done practising addition to 20.

With Mrs Easingwood we have been writing poems about our favourite breakfast meals and beverages🍞☕and we went through the pantomime.🎭
With Ms Clubb we have been doing perimeters and area in maths and also been learning about subject-verb agreement.
