Coldingham Newsletter 26 February 2018

The forecast snow is expected to cause some disruption over the coming days. To stay informed, please check the SBC website of Facebook page. Alternatively, listen to Radio Borders (103.4FM) for school-related updates. The decision about school closure or the calling of resilient schools is made by SBC HQ.

If resilient schools is called, please remember that school will only be open for P1-7 pupils (not nursery) that live within 1.5 miles of school. Please do not send your child to school if you live out-with this distance as resilient school plans are designed around a lower number of pupils. You support with this is appreciated.

New morning routine / requests to see staff

We pride ourselves on being an ‘open door’ school – we want parents and carers to feel welcome. To help us continue with this, we ask for your support with two changes to current arrangements:

1) If you need to speak to Sheila at the start of the school day, please wait until AFTER the children have gone into school at 8.35am. Sheila can then pass messages to class teachers.

2) If you would like to speak to a class teacher directly, please contact the school office and request a mutually convenient time.

Both of these changes will help school staff to use their morning set-up time effectively and efficiently. Thank you.

P 1,2 News

We have been word building with Ms Clubb. It is tricky. We have been writing about a character of our own in writing time with Mrs Blyth. P2 did weighing with cubes, pegs and marbles. We found out that grams always weigh the same and weights can be heavy too.

P1 wrote sentences.
