Dear Parents/Carers

Macmillan Coffee Morning – We would like to thank you all for your help baking and supporting us at our Macmillan Coffee Morning last week. The baking was delicious and a total of £470 was raised. Well done P6/7 for the service you provided during the morning.

The Rotary District 1020 Young Artist Competition – We have wonderful news. The winner of the junior section is Beth Campbell, P5. Highly commended was Dylan McEwen, P6. Well done to both.

Returns – Many thanks to you for commenting on our curriculum and/or returning the ‘skills audit’. We will keep you informed of ‘next steps’.

School Vision – as you will be aware we are currently revisiting our vision, values and aims and ensuring the curriculum we are offering meets the needs of our school. Very often it is adults who create the vision and invariably using words and phrases straight out of a text book! At Coldingham Primary we asked the children to write the vision and this is what they came up with:

A school where children take responsibility for their actions, where they know how to challenge themselves but know how to keep themselves safe. Where children enjoy the outdoors and know how to learn from it. Where children are respectful of the many different people in society and are always helpful to others. Where children try and try again – we don’t give up!’

We could not have written this better ourselves!

Dates for the Diary!

PFA Meeting – Friday 19th October at 8.45am

Road Safety at EHS – P1, 2 & JRSO’s Monday 22nd October

PFA Halloween Party – Friday 26th October

School photographer – Monday 29 October

Coldingham Fireworks – Saturday 3rd November

We hope you have a happy and ‘Safe’ holiday and are ‘Ready’ for the next term!

Kind regards

Liz Wharton
